November in the garden

End of another season

The 2016 harvest is mostly completed but the weather is still so mild that we decided to try one more lettuce crop before the frosts arrive.  The artichokes don't seem to know they should rest now and the chard, kale, brussels sprouts and leeks are still growing well.

It was a good season; we grew a lot of food, learned some new things, survived our mistakes, and pulled together when the unexpected happened.  It was fun too, the hard work is easier when accompanied by laughter and friendship.

The cabbage looks like a pretty girl of a fairy tale.
Then I recognized a queen telling small green citizens something the bottom of the photoes.

The garden here is a world of a fairy tales.
